Kamala Devi Harris is born October 20, 1964
Both Kamala's parents were immigrants and scholars. Her mother, Shyamala Harris, was born in India, held a PhD from Berkeley University, and was a breast cancer researcher. Donald Harris, Kamala's father, was a Stanford University economics professor and was born in Jamaica.
In 1986 Harris graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the Historic Black College (HBCU) Howard University.
